I love Obama's portrait. I think it's so bright, and cheerful, and still dignified. It shows some appreciation for art, not just some hearkening back to those stolid, dull oil portraits of a man in a suit looking like he's thinking about lunch. I shudder to think of what Trump's will look like. Maybe they can just borrow that tax fraud portrait he bought for himself a while ago. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/11/01/this-is-the-portrait-of-himself-that-donald-trump-bought-with-20000-from-his-charity/ Or just turn this picture into one of those "your picture on a canvas" things |

That is the Portrait Museum’s portrait of Obama - not the White House portrait.

Ah my bad - it's gorgeous, though. I love it. Especially when you see it among those other dull, colorless portraits. Hard to imagine some people look at that mock-up and think that Obama's is the problematic portrait there. |
It’s problematic for them. But not because of the background. |
No I get that - it's just, it's such a beautiful portrait and the fact they think including it is an argument against Obama is really something |
It stands out in such a good way compared to the same old same old surrounding it. |
