Notice how the selfish OP won’t respond. What a lazy, entitled individual!! And a control freak. |
Its not a major US holiday. Its a religious holiday. |
Me too! Recent history showed us all that evangelical Christians are some of the most hateful, hypocritical, full of shit bunch on the planet. I have lost respect for all who try to shove their religion down my throat. |
Christmas is also a major US holiday. |
I’m not OP and almost all shops were open near me. |
That is a federal holiday. Easter is not. |
I’m sure it’s an economic issue. The people who run the big stores that are closed on Easter have probably run the numbers and determined it’s not cost effective to be open today especially with probably having to pay employees holiday pay to get them to work. So the stores are mostly closed as a result, except for grocery stores and some big box stores on reduced hours. Shrug. |
They don’t work Sundays. |
Christmas is also a *religious* holiday. Too bad, huh? |
If it were a federal holiday that falls on Sunday, we’d get Monday off. |
Weird. I work with a few white people who say racist things all the time but me and other black and Latino people didn't hold it against them. All vote democrat though with the exception of me who doesn't even like those people. |
Exactly. Did the fed just choose Christmas instead of Easter as the one Christian holiday to be celebrated? |
| Are you new to the US? Everything is closed on Easter. |
What’s your point? I read it there times and can’t figure it out. You think Christians in this country are somehow being mistreated, have had a tough time? What? Christianity is a set of learned beliefs, not a race. |
| So much hostility on Easter. Give it a rest. People can go one day without shopping. Spend time with family. Let workers spend time with theirs. |
