Yeah, yeah. Most dogs don't like people in their face, etc. I am an animal lover and have had dogs all my life, and yes have had a dog that snapped at the air once to get a point across. But I NEVER have had a dog that actually bit someone in the face. You are CRAZY to keep the dog, or even consider rehoming it for that matter unless you're absolutely clear with them what the dog did. This dog is now at major risk for doing the same thing again. At best it'll most likely bite a family member again, with potentially more damage. At worse it'll bite a visitor in your home and you'll be looking at your retirement savings going to pay off a lawsuit. It is shocking recklessness to keep the dog. |
Many unscrupulous shelters are known to hide 'bite history' in order to rehome a dog. It's sick. |
My dog could care less. He actually loves it. We got him at 9 weeks and socialized him ridiculously so, trained him...touched his paws, face, put hand in his bowl when he was a puppy, etc. Zero aggression. We also selected a breed known to have literally no aggression in their line. This is one reason I didn't want to go to a shelter. My sister works for county government and there are some shelters that will hide 'bite history', etc. Plus, about 99% are pit or pit mixes. |
