I think it’s because of three things: the media is now wholly right wing friendly, right wingers have infiltrated every agency (or, perhaps more accurately in some cases, formerly normal Republicans have become right wing lunatics while still occupying their jobs) and the Overton window, while appearing more liberal in some contexts, has become far right wing too, likely due to the nefarious impact of right wing-friendly media.

It is ridiculous that you expect Kushner to be prosecuted when system wide KSA has had oversized influence over USA leadership for 50 plus years
