Providers are simply doing what the health department could order, except they’re doing it after one case instead of waiting for 3. An outbreak is 3 cases in a classroom, or cases in 5 different rooms in a center. They could order a quarantine for a cohort (i.e., a classroom) after 3 cases In the room, or close the center in the case of a center-wide outbreak. I don’t know why providers would be scared. What DHHS can do is strictly less than what they’re voluntarily already doing. |
