Yes, Subaru an and Toyota (as well as some other foreign brands) both have manufacturing plants in America. But the engineering is Japanese. I will not buy an American engineered car. I will always buy a car with Japanese engineering behind it, regardless of where it is actually put together.

Yes because the Japanese tend to be smarter generally in tech/science/mathematical areas.

This is pretty old thinking. German cars -- yes ahead. Japanese and American are pretty close to the same.

No. hahaha!!! LOL Seriously I was literally laughing out loud when I read this. German cars are extremely bad and unreliable.

The two biggest POS’s I ever owned were a Volkswagen Passat and a BMW X5 v8 turbo, which literally burst into flames and burned to a charred hulk from an oil leak in the engine, at mile marker 18 on I-66. 4 years later I still see the burned pavement on the shoulder of the road where it self-immolated.

Those two piles of crap cured me forever of ever needing to own a European car again.

Japanese or American cars from then on.

The other day when I came to the office, I noticed that 90% of the parking lot was filled with foreign made cars.  Wonder who is buying Ford, GM, and Chrysler these days?

Nobody in your town has a new Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150? They're only the most popular large vehicles in the US.

For the price, Mazda makes outstanding cars. Have had very little issues with them other than regular maintenance. Fantastic cars for under $25k.
