Peloton Out of Business?

Do people like to buy secondhand Pelotons? My DH bought one with good intentions but he has used it only a handful of times.

Seems like it. They are all over Facebook market place. Seems it would have to be discounted since the affirm financing is probably not transferable.

Warranty doesn't transfer

I don't know about Apple because the technology is a custom version of an Android OS. The whole thing about Apple is their proprietary iOS. That would be pretty cost prohibitive because they would have to redevelop the software from the ground up as an Apple OS.

People finance these things? Seriously?

People buy them all the time. Try FB Marketplace and/or Craigslist.

It’s the same price if you pay cash or finance at 0 percent with affirm. It’s part of their business model.

All these luxury start ups have relationships with affirm. Amazon does now too. PayPal works the same way for six month purchases. The list of this strategy to get people to buy things is endless.

It’s only “financing” if you treat it that way instead of making the decision to purchase and then letting somebody else hold the bag for free. Do you live under a rock?

I financed it, and I’ve lost 40’pounds. If I could have financed 10k with interest a guarantee to lose this much weight I would have.

Why give peloton money when I could make it work for me? Financing the peloton literally costs nothing. I could have afforded it straight up. But again, even if I couldn’t, it would have been worth it. I feel like this crazy culty company has literally added years to my life. Hard to put a price on that.

Great job! I have a similar story but with the tread. You did the work, the machine and community was just the catalyst.

Also, now that Peloton reduced the price of the original bike to $1400, that kind of pulled the floor out of the resale market. Most re-sales I was seeing on FB were for $1700+.

You’ll have to drive to Pelaton headquarters and meet with Blake in membership in order to cancel?

get a grip. their stock tanked. that is different. stock price reflects investor expectations -- they expected a lot and Peleton missed sales expectations for the quarter
