We are not quite sure if we want to do Italy or Greece but would like to visit an island in that general area. The plan is to travel in peak season: mid August. The prices are the lowest I've seen right now and the flights look pretty good with minimal stops. Should I wait until January (or later) or buy now?
I need veteran traveler advice. There are 3 of us traveling. |
| I'm not sure, but we are looking at those same areas for next summer too. There are websites that give timing info re: buying tix... |
| I don't have an answer for you, just a comment. Greece is extremely hot in August, even the islands. Be sure you can handle it. |

I have been to Greece numerous times and would vote for that. Never been to Italy.
Greece is hot in July-August, but on the islands there is always a breeze, so it was never horrible to me. If you are planning to ferry to or between islands, be aware that the winds can be quite strong in August and can make for rough seas. If you're prone to seasickness, it could be a problem. Google meltemi. |
| I was in Sardinia this past August, LOVED IT! We flew out of Paris, on Air France. |
