They were all worried this (yesterday) morning. "There is NO WAY it will NOT be Clinton, right?"
(I told them it will be close.) I don't know, they seriously think the sky is falling. The panic is much, much worse than when Bush was re-elected. I can't think of what to say to them - maybe what Obama said: The sun will rise, no matter what! |
| Thank God I don't have to worry about that. I've never been out of he country and know no one in other countries. |
| I live overseas at the moment. This is so embarrassing.... |
| O, please. Get over it. |
| Ask them why Brexit happened. |
|
They've been through bexit - Im sure they'll understand just fine.
|
| Europe has its own problems with racism and irrelevance. |
|
Their press is FAR more biased than our broken "free" press.
Exhibit A: Italy. |
|
| So move to Europe. Bye. |
| Then your friends are stupid. They are in a much more volatile situation in Europe than we are in the States. Tell them to fix their countries before they pontificate on our country v |
|
No, they are seriously worried about war, financial ruin, the end of diplomacy, you name it!
And I agree, their press did fuel a "doom and gloom" picture. |
Yep, a Brit here waking up to this news. This is Brexit all over again. The PP is right that we have our own problems with racism. What the PP doesn't say is that racist attacks in the UK have increased since the Brexit vote because thugs believe the vote gave them "legitimacy" to set upon immigrants. So, what legitimacy does a Trump presidency offer - racism, misogyny? It will be interesting too to watch what happens to the dollar. The pound sank after Brexit, and is still languishing. This is opening the door for other countries to pile in and buy up Britain. So you can be sure that China will now Make America Great Again. Good luck. |
Dollar can't sink as much as the pound. Brexit was an excuse for the UKs mess. You need more luck tha. We do |
Good luck to you old chap. |
