Conferences in middle school?

Anonymous
I'm a new parent of a 6th grader and My child's middle school sent out an email about conferences and how you go to a big room and you have 15 minutes. My son is doing fine and has as and bs In all his classes. I see no reason to go and never found elementary school conferences all that helpful. Do you have to go? They also mentioned invitation only conferences. I suspect this is for kids that are having trouble and I would know if I got an invitation?

Don't go unless you have questions.

Agreed. They were great for my kid with struggles but I would have felt like I was wasting the teachers time to ask how Susie was doing in the class if she has a 98.

We never go.

MS conferences are not well attended at our school. I always go because I figure if there is a problem, I want to know and I want to be sure everyone knows how to contact me.
