What hospital to choose?

I am just about to go to my first prenatal appointment and am wondering if any of you have any experiences having a baby at Georgetown Hospital? I don't know anyone who has had a baby there but it makes the most sense in terms of location for me. Any thoughts?

It's not clear from your post, but....your doctor's office should only be delivering at one or two hospitals. Do you know that your doctor's office delivers at G'town for sure? It might not be the one that is geographically closest to you or your doctor.

Gtown is supposed to be great, esp. because they have a Level 4 NICU (the highest), and only they and Fairfax have that.

There have been many threads on here about experiences at GUH. You may want to try to search (including the old site).

I delivered there last July and was pretty pleased with the hospital and the staff. The NICU staff (doctors and nurses) were outstanding. I can't recall for sure but I think most (all?) of their rooms are private. There is a night-time nursery so you can send your baby there if you should choose to.
