Hotels in NYC

Anonymous
We'd love to do 2 nights in NYC late March/early April. Does anyone have recs for hotels? Preferably near Natural History Museum, Central Park, etc. to spend approx. $200-250/night.

Thanks!

I don't have any tips for specific hotels, but I have had good luck getting decent reasonably-priced rooms in NYC on Priceline.com

Jolly Madison around 29th & Madison - I believe rooms are about $240. It is a very nice, small european boutique hotel.

I lived near Lincoln Center for 6 years and had guests stay at On the Ave (http://www.ontheave-nyc.com/main.htm) several times. It is just a few blocks from the Natural History Museum and Central Park and it is walkable to Lincoln Center and, if you have good shoes, to all the Broadway shows. It is off the redline which goes down into where the Broadway shows are if you don't want to walk. The rooms are very nice and neat, though a little small. I think they start around $180 and go up from there.

I've had lots of luck finding hotels on quickbook -- lots of smaller, boutique hotels for reasonable prices (at least reasonable for NYC).
