Implantation bleeding or...?

Implantation bleeding question. My fiancé and I have been TTC for about 3 months now. I have a very irregular cycle and *may* have PCOS (don't know for sure as I haven't gotten a full work up and my gynecologist said it may just be weight related and go away once I lose some weight....). Anyways, I had a period from July 19-25 and then not again until September 21st. However, that one lasted until pretty much October 18th (switched between light spotting and heavy bleeding for that whole time). It officially ended on October 18th and my fiancé and I have pretty much had sex every day since then (besides 2 days). We also had sex random days during my 3 week period as some days I was barely spotting so we took advantage of that. I use the ovia app and according to the app, I can take a test in 5 days. However, Sunday afternoon I went to the bathroom and there was light pink on the toilet paper. It was only that one time and that was it. Monday was completely normal and then around 1pm, I started feeling kind of crampy and went to the bathroom and had pink spotting again. By 4pm, it had turned red and I put on a pad. I had pretty decent cramps for a few hours too as well as lower back pain. I had originally thought that maybe it was implantation bleeding but from what I understand, it's usually not heavy or red. The bleeding completely stopped as of around 7pm. So pretty much from 1pm-7pm, it went from pink spotting to red blood to light pink again and then nothing. Yesterday (Tuesday), I woke up with bad cramps and took two Tylenol. I wiped and again there was a salmon colored spotting going on. It was on and off all day. Today (Wednesday), I woke up to some brown spotting and as of now, it's light pink again. Is there any chance this could be implantation bleeding? I'm confused about all of this as it doesn't seem like a period as my periods are normally very heavy and also, I never get cramps at all. Sorry for the long post but I'm just so confused!

Given your irregular cycles and possible PCOS you might want to ask your OB about it...but it sounds like a period to me. I had implementation bleeding with my first pregnancy and it was very light (like the first spotting you describe) but not accompanied by cramps and only lasted part of a day. A few times while TTC I thought I had implementation bleeding and it was always the start of my period - and it sounded much like you describe. I think some women do get heavier implementation bleeding - every once in awhile someone posts about how they got what they thought was a period but ended up pregnant - but I think those cases are less frequent. More likely you have a period. But take a pregnancy test - it can't hurt!

I had on and off bleeding that started about a week after I probably ovulated, for about 10 days, that ended up being a pregnancy. Like what you describe it was lighter than my period but heavier and longer in duration that what most people experience for implantation bleeding. Unfortunately for me it was an early sign that the pregnancy was not a healthy one... my hormone levels were low, growth was slow, and I miscarried at 9 weeks. I don't think that's the typical outcome but I thought I would mention it in case you do end up being pregnant. My OB's office took it pretty seriously when I came in saying I had a positive HPT but all that bleeding, hence all the bloodwork and early ultrasounds. It sucked being in limbo but I'm glad I didn't just assume all would be OK because that would have made the loss harder to take. Good luck!

OP here- I took a test today but it was negative. I'm going to take another one on Sunday as I heard that IF it's implantation bleeding, it can take 4-6 days from the time of implantation bleeding until you can pick up the levels on a test. I'm still not sure what's going on. I woke up this morning and there was nothing there. As the day progressed, I started spotting again and its still an peachy pink color but the weird thing is that none of it's greting on the pad I put on. When I go to the bathroom and then wipe, that's when I see the spotting on the toilet paper and some drops in the toilet but none have gotten onto my pad. So I'm pretty much clueless.

It sounds like an irregular period to me. I have PCOS, and totally think you should get a workup. And I don't have all the traditional symptoms either. No cysts, I have a regular 28 day period. But, i wasn't ovulating until late, I have hair on my chin and breasts, and trouble losing weight. When luckily concieved #1 naturally, and I Just started Metformin for number two.
