Those w/ travel baseball players; does your son play any baseball (or do camps) during the winter?

Does your travel baseball player play baseball during the Nov--March off season?
If so, what program/class/clinic does he do?

Thanks for any thoughts!

Yes, although little to no throwing until February. Batting is the one thing you can loose easily, so we keep that up once a week with private lessons. His travel team starts winter practices in January usually with strength training and other types of activities. Throwing a ball is kept to a minimum until February with the travel team too. We don't pick up a baseball ball from mid-November (once the last tournament is done) until mid-January (except of course to shag balls from batting! ) Most of the boys do another sport like basketball, so it also keeps them in shape. Lots of baseball clinics or private lessons in the area.

We'll probably do a baseball clinic offered by local high school in Nov (4 sessions), but nothing else till middle of Feb.

My son doesn't play travel baseball any longer, but when he did, they had weekly (at least) practices at indoor facilities throughout the fall and winter. My son is also a travel basketball player and the winter practices are one reason why he no longer plays baseball.

BCC Baseball usually offers a winter clinic but they haven't posted the schedule yet.

check out dynamic baseball - they just started doing clinics this fall and have some good looking winter options, saturdays mostly in January and February

Anyone else notice the "we" in all the responses? It's as if the parents are trying to live some sports fantasy through their kids. I've watched so many kids pushed into this sports 24/7 thing by their parents, and then have nothing to do with it when they go off to college. Give it up. Your kids aren't going to be playing for the Nationals. And if they are lucky enough to make a minor league team, they get paid minimum wage and live in people's basements.

My older son does an indoor workout with his team 1x weekly, and works out with a weight trainer 2x weekly.

My younger son's travel team does a winter workout session 1x weekly at VBC in Merrifield, VA.

The older one has potential to play in college if he keeps up his grades, the younger one will play for his HS.

around here the goal isn't the majors (north-east/mid atlantic baseball isn't really that good - 90%+ of the studs are out west or down south) - it is to get that recruiting hook for a top school so that a white kid with 1900+ sats gets into dartmouth.
