Shalom, We live in upper NW. I am exploring options for my now 4 yr old for summer camp next summer. (I know I know, I already have started working on the Harvard app too.) We would love to send her and her sister to a Jewish oriented camp in the summer. Rockville is a shlep. Any other options? Thank you in advance. RMarvin |
Adas Israel (Cleveland Park) has 6 weeks of summer camp for ages 2-5. Hours are 9-1 with 2 extended day options. Most, but not all, of the campers also attend the Adas preschool, the Gan.
The DCJCC (16th and Q) has all-day summer camp for ages 4 through middle school. The younger children join in with the year-round preschool kids; the older ones have a full range of summer camp options, including ice skating/hockey, general (field trips, fun), and many other options. We've been very happy with the camps at both schools. |
Have you tried Ohr Kodesh congregation in Chevy Chase MD? Their preschool runs camps during summer. You could call the Early Childhood Center Director Joanie Smeltz to inquire. |
PP again. Oh, your daughter will be five then. So maybe not, sorry. |
Hi, there. Just a note from a very happy mom of a DCJCC camper. He starts talking about camp in February or March and when summer camp finally arrives, he hops out the car door each morning raring to go. Counselors are friendly and funny, and my son as a very relaxed but engaged sense about him during these months. He has a blast. He's also now a super swimmer thanks to their classes. Can't recommend it enough. |
