ISO Yoga pants for tallish woman

Anonymous
Here's the deal, I'm a 5'9" woman (is that considered very tall?) who routinely has a hard time buying "ready to wear" (read off the rack) pants that are long enough. While I have solved my pants issues for profesisonal clothes, I am at a loss for comfortable/weekend pants, especially yoga type pants. I have purchased mostly inexpensive ones from sporting good-type stores, but wonder how Athleta yoga pants would work, do they shrink up, or how about Lucy yoga pants? I find that "tall" pants are too long, but regular sizes are too short (or shrink up). Anyone else have this problem?

I have two pair from LuLu Lemon and love them. I'm 5'10" and they had to hem them for me. They do their alterations free. They are pricey, but I've had them for several months now, wear them almost daily due to comfort, and they are well worth the price tag. I'm in VA and I know they have a location in Clarendon and Tysons Mall. Not sure about DC or MD.

Thanks I'm in VA, I"ll check out the stores, if I ever get a free moment. Do they have a catalog or on-line-that you know of?

You could go to the Lucy store and try their talls. They all tend to shrink somewhat, so even if they're a bit long at first they might fit you well after a wash or two.

Lucy is great - they have a ton of different pants to try on.

I live in my AVIA yoga pants on weekends and I'm about 5'10". But...I have a long torso and it sounds like you may have longer legs even though you are an inch shorter. Do you know your inseam?

Definitely go to Lucy and try on the various styles. I am only 5 feet 7 inches but I am all legs. I found some of their styles to be just right and some to be too long. I usually buy a 34" inseam.

OP here-I am definitely have the length in the leg, around a 33 inch inseam for pants that I wear with flats and have a medium break. I'll have to get measured and try Lucy, is there a store somewhere nearby. Since I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old, and work FT, I RARELY get to shop, but if I can find what I want at one store, then I'll go out there. Thanks for the advice.

Nike makes tall workout pants. I'm 5'10" with long legs and they're perfect for me. I get them at Nordstrom.

Just go to their website www.lucy.com and there is a store locator. They have stores all over in DC, MD and VA but I went to the store at Tyson's. It was about a week and a half before Christmas so it was busy but they were great with my two year old. He was all over the place and I still was able to have a great experience. They have all different price ranges too. The least expensive pants are $29. I think it is worthwhile to sign up for their mailing list because they send you coupons a la Ann Taylor.
