| Since when? Have I been wrong this entire time? Granted I've never used this term but I thought it meant actual movie night or show marathon. |
| I don't know OP. I'm not cool enough to say things that mean the opposite of what they mean. |
| lol. Yes it means hookup. Do not say it for a Netflix marathon |
|
No. it's basically a thing where, a guy will invite you over to his place to "Netflix and chill". There is often the potential to hookup depending on how things go and how he plays his cards, the history of your relationship, etc. but it's not guaranteed. I have "netflixed and chilled" with guys and done nothing (though usually you can tell they want more- trying to scoot over on the couch to be closer to you, etc. it's generally up to the guy to seal the deal)
But there is an implication of the potential for romance. You would never say "Netflix and chill" about a purely platonic good friend even if you are watching Netflix and chilling. |
| Since always. Good thing you haven't been telling coworkers that you're going to Netflix and chill with the dog since DH is out of town... |
|
Yup. And I had no idea. Until I posted this on my adult daughter's Facebook page -
Hope you had a good day at work, sweetie. Tonight you and Jeff should just relax and enjoy the quiet. A perfect night for Netflix and chill. Love you bunches! You can imagine the comments.....
|
| It means to start watching Netflix but basically not to pay for a real date and stay home and hook up. Some can do a marathon too...in both ways. |
That's amazing! I can imagine you were embarrassed but you likely made plenty of people laugh with that one. Well done! |
| You're cute, op. |
Did you brazen it out? Or did you back pedal? |
| Where did this phrase come from?? |
| So what is the correct phrase when you really do mean Netflix and chill? |
| Some campaign sent out a come "Netflix and chill" with the candidate during the primaries. It was too funny. Let me find it. |
bummer-- it was a fake. good ol snopes. |
| This needs to be a debate question .. winner takes the presidency |
