| I like the name Virginia but it's a mouthful. What are good nicknames? Don't like Ginny. |
| I have cousins named Virginia who could by Ginger. |
| How about Gia or Gina? I like the name Virginia ( Great Grandfather pushed for that name) but since we live in Maryland I felt it would seem odd somehow ( not rational I know) His wife was named Virginia but she went by Ginny. |

I've heard people use Jenny as a nickname for Virginia. Do you not like the sound of Ginny or Jinnie?
|
| I know a Virginia that goes by Vi. |
| I don't like Jenny/Ginny/etc because I grew up with a million Jennifers (and all the attendant nicknames) -- too many. |
| I like Vi. Nia maybe? |

Virginia is an awesome choice! Gigi? Vivi? Gina (like Geena)?
Ginny is CUUUTE though. That's what I would do! Also, I have a daughter with a name that lends itself to one nickname out of a few options (I.e, Margaret to Maggie vs. Margo or Greta). If you want the less common nickname, be FIRM and establish the nickname immediately. Otherwise you're fighting an uphill battle. http://nameberry.com/nametalk/threads/73109-Nicknames-for-Virginia |
