Pointless lies

I dont understand why the Trump camp keeps lying in easily refutable ways. For example, Rudy saying Hillary avoided ground zero despite photos showing them together there, and Pence at the debate.

Is it because the voters they are targeting dont care that they are lying? I would think those voters are already solidly in the R camp and dont need to be pandered to.

They're gas lighting their supporters, who don't care about objective truth.

What they don't realize is that this strategy will only work with the racist orcs they've riled up, and they can't win an election that way.

Hillary WASN’T there on 9/11 - “that day” as Rudy says. She came the NEXT day.
