Africa/Kenya safari for spring break?

Anyone gone to Kenya for a safari for spring break? Would love to do it but noticed that late March is the beginning of the rainy season there, so that concerns me -- going all that way and then possibly getting stuck inside our bush tent while it rains for several hours.

not in spring break but highly recommend Game Watchers Safaris- they run a set of camps called Porini and the game drives and guides are super on point and the quintessential safari experience

Gamewatchers is fantastic. Tourism is down in Kenya at the moment so they're offering great deals. We've been on two safaris with them and I cannot recommend them enough.

FYI they offer two levels of safaris, a luxury camping safari and a basic camping safari. We've done both and both are wonderful yet different experiences for different reasons. The quality of the guides, food, animals, nature preserves and intimacy was the same for both levels of safaris. You can have a few days of basic camping followed with a few days of luxury to make it easier on your budget.

Regarding the time of year, March-May are very wet months. Some lodges and camps will be closed outright. Muddy roads make game drives difficult, especially as a lot of it will be off-road in the game preserves. If you can, move your safari to the summer months, particularly July and August.
