Parent bullying kid (not his own)

Anonymous
Wondering what responsibility a school has if a parent name-calls and bullies a child (not his own) at the school one day in an intimidating enough way to seriously scare the child?

What actions should the school take? Especially if the parent freely admits he name-called the child and has been unwilling to apologize to the child and/or the child's family?

What should the school do to properly address what occurred and reduce the potential for a recurrence (beyond asking him not to do it again)?

What would you want to see your school admin do in such a situation?

And do you think parents generally should be aware of what occurred or understand the possible threat posed by this parent?

Any similar experiences out there?
Thoughts appreciated.

What did this parent call your child?

Wasn't my child...

Let's just say it was a derogatory term for female genitalia and the child is male, which only matters here because the use of the term seems like a clear attempt to emasculate the child. That being said, it's not totally clear the child understood the term fully. He was more terrified by the manner of the delivery.

Why the drama? Email the principal what you observed. Let them deal with it and tell them you want this person kept away from your child.

+1 Focus on your child.

Sorry if it wasn't clear. The admin knows everything. Just not doing much.

And all the kids are fine now... thanks.

There's not much they can do and they probably can't or shouldn't really share with you what they are doing.

Has it happened again? Is there some reason he would come in contact with your child? If it's because your kids are in the same class request your child is moved.

Call the police.

I would demand that parent not be allowed in the building. Who calls somebody else's kid a p***y at school?? Hell no.

Except maybe banning the parent from the school, I am not sure what else can be done and that hurts the parent's child.

Was the kid acting like one?

I'm sure there's real bullying going on somewhere, but this ain't it. Move on.

If you let the school know what happened and you are not the parent of the child who was called a name, there's nothing else for you to do.

What is the context? Is this some sort of sports thing?

I believe you report him to the principal, tell the child's parents and insist that he n be allowed on school grounds permanently. Tell the other parent you'll call the police if you ever see him do this again and get a video!

Teacher here. Actually no parent is allowed to confront a child that isn't their own in a derogatory or threatening way on school property. It's grounds for serious action. Admin. should be notified.
