Is there a scenario in which Pence wins?

He's working overtime to distance himself.

If Trump steps down, you have a guy who came off as reasonably competent in the VP debate. He doesn't have the baggage Trump or Hillary has. He has his own record in Indiana to contend with, but that record wouldn't dissuade the many Republicans who are currently disgusted with Trump. The conservative women Trump has lost would likely return.

He's going to look very attractive to the prominent Republicans who have left the fold. In fact, the tape has given them the perfect justification to jettison Trump (hence the dramatic shock and disgust). This could be their chance to turn this around.

Not likely... but I don't think it's completely implausible.

Having to hold funerals for miscarriages and possibly being investigated for same? Most conservative women are pro-choice, albeit with more caveats than your average liberal woman, but Pence's junk still isn't going to fly for many.

I'm not sure how many people know about that, though. It hasn't really been a focal point in the campaign. Maybe that will change soon ...

He would beat Hillary easily especially if he chooses Marco Rubio or Susanna Martinez as his running mate.

There's very recent polling on this by Fairleigh Dickinson and you're wrong - she would still beat Pence albeit narrowly. Kaine would beat Trump by 15 points, though. Look it up.

One of the best things about this is that Pence's and Christie's careers will be over.

I saw that poll ...... Hillary leads by one point which is hardly decisive.

There are just too many independents and even some moderate Democrats who would vote for him against Hillary who will not vote for Trump.

And yes, the fact that Kaine would beat Trump decisively tells you what an appallingly weak candidate Hillary is and any half way reasonable Republican would beat her.

If Hillary is defeated by anyone, it would mean we would be rid of the Clintons and that would be wonderful.

And what a fine Christian he is, too, refusing to issue a pardon for an innocent man whose life was ruined by a wrongful conviction.

Yes, that's why I specifically said "narrowly." Her ahead by 1 point does not corroborate him "beating her easily" as you claim above.

Popular vote does not matter. Only the swing states matter. A few swing states would decide the election.

Doesn't matter. Trump isn't quitting. You did the crime, now do the time.
Anonymous
It doesn't work like this. If Trump quits the race, the RNC has to hold a new convention and vote all over again for a replacement. Then petition the courts to have Trump's name replaced on the ballots in all the states, which are already printed in most cases. Alternately, they could tell the nation, "Vote Trump for president but the GOP electors will choose _____ as president instead!"
