Mrs. Pelligren movie for 6.5 yr old?

I watched the trailer and I'd like to see it but is it too scary for a first grader?

I answered my own question. Probably not right for mine.

I took my 10 and 14 year olds and it was very scary for the 10 year old. I have read the books and there are definitely scary parts of the books but the movie added additional gruesome details.

My kids had to leave. 10 year old was terrified by the whitened eyes of one character. I think played by Morgan Freeman.

How does it compare to the new ghostbusters?

THe pics in the book scared my 10 yr old. The plot is not likely to be interesting to a 6.4 yr old either.

They are both PG 13 for good reasons.

one 10y liked and and while was scared, didn't have to leave and was fine. The other refused to see it because M.F. scared him in the preview.
