Just for fun (inspired by "Sleeping Naked" thread)

Anonymous
No, I don't have anything better to do right now. Reading through the thread about the wife who feels pressured to sleep in the nude with her husband, it made me wonder about those of us who do and our spouses/SOs. Not wanting to hijack hers, I'm starting this one.

1. Do you sleep naked every night?
2. If not, how often?
3. How old were you when you started and what made you want to try it (someone else's example, comfort, sexuality, etc.)?
4. Does your spouse/SO also sleep naked, and did he/she start as a result of being with you, or did he/she already sleep that way before meeting you.
5. Are you afraid of your kids "catching" you like OP in the other thread, or do they know enough to knock?
6. Are you male or female?

My answers:

1. Yes, every night.
2. --
3. I was about 7 or 8 when I started in the summer and about 12 when I stopped wearing clothes for good. It was partly for comfort, but mostly because of teenage hormones. I also knew my dad did sometimes.
4. Yes, DW does most nights. She says she started around 15.
5. The kids are older and know enough to knock. When they were younger, we didn't hide it from them.

1. No
2. Most nights
3. At some point as a teenager
4. All the time - he started way before we met.
5. They knock if they need anything, which is almost never.

1. Do you sleep naked every night?

No

2. If not, how often?

Once a year, maybe.

3. How old were you when you started and what made you want to try it (someone else's example, comfort, sexuality, etc.)?

When I started dating DW, we tried it. I was very inexperienced with sex. It was impossible for us to do it without having sex.

4. Does your spouse/SO also sleep naked, and did he/she start as a result of being with you, or did he/she already sleep that way before meeting you.

Not usually, but she suggested it when we were dating.

5. Are you afraid of your kids "catching" you like OP in the other thread, or do they know enough to knock?

Too young to knock, but we don't do it that often. We lock the door during sex. I wouldn't be horrified if they saw us just sleeping naked.

6. Are you male or female?

1. Do you sleep naked every night? No.
2. If not, how often? Very very rarely. More before kids. More before marriage. More in college. Currently I like to sleep in (spouse's) underwear.
3. How old were you when you started and what made you want to try it (someone else's example, comfort, sexuality, etc.)? sometime when I started having sex or a regular boyfriend. College? I don't remember, actually. I'm usually cold without clothes, though, because even when you have blankets on -- a lot of blankets -- your partner's moving around creates air pockets that move around and make you cold. And then he pulls the blankets off you. And then you have to get up and go to the bathroom. All cooooold. I like to sleep in a cold room in a warm bed ... so, warm pjs are good)
4. Does your spouse/SO also sleep naked, and did he/she start as a result of being with you, or did he/she already sleep that way before meeting you. Not often, but more than me because he has a lower "cold" threshold, and it is easier for him to pull on a pair of shorts in the middle of the night and be fully dressed to deal with children.
5. Are you afraid of your kids "catching" you like OP in the other thread, or do they know enough to knock? no, our kids don't knock. Damn us, we didn't teach them
6. Are you male or female? female

1. Just about
2. Depends on how gotnor cold the house is.
3. Sometime as a married woman in my 20s. Mainly because we had sex most nights so why bother?
4. No, he likes wearing his shorts to bed
5. No. We are not a modest family, nudity is common all around though my 10yr old boy recently asked me to "put more clothes on" so i now wear a robe when he's around. I suspect he is starting to get interested in girls. When they come in our room to snuggle in the mornings, i tell them to wait outside while i put my robe on, which they eagerly respect. We do lock our door when we have sex, so no concerns about anyone barging in when it's unwelcome.

1. No. Usually only on special occasions (hotel trips away, etc. -- definitely sexual undertones to it)
2. See 1. Probably 5-6 times a year. Would do it every night if DW liked it
3. Started with first post-college GF. Probably 25. She liked it, I liked it, felt comfy and intimate, even when no sex
4. She does not ever.
5. Not worried. Pull up covers, but usually when naked am at hotel. But I also change in front of kids, which DW does not like to do. Naked bodies are naked bodies. They see, understand, and aren't weirded out by them.

My answers:

2. Not at all; uncomfortable
3. Tried as a young adult and didn't like it
4. No.
5. Yes. We lock the door.

1. No
2. Never (even if I fall asleep naked post sex, I always wake up later and put something on)
3. --
4. Sometimes, but very rarely. He prefers a pair of boxers to sleep in.
5. Not afraid of them catching me, I just prefer to sleep in boxers and a t-shirt. Like a PP, I like a cold room and a cozy/warm bed.

This is PP 12:23 in the other thread.

1. Yes
2. NA
3. I was in my late 30s. The result of a random family conversation when both kids were around middle school age. The girls (daughter and I) were wondering why the boys (husband and son) found sleeping naked appealing. DH later asked me privately why I hadn't ever tried it, so I did, and it was great.
4. Yes, DH has slept naked since adolescence. Same goes for our son.
5. No, they're young adults now.

^^^ PP, you must be a really open family. Things like that stay personal in our house. I don't think I've ever talked about what I wear to bed with my children or vice versa.

PP I'm replying to, not implying you're judging just continuing the convo on this

Earlier PP - I love the openness! It's totally age appropriate discussion and the kind of random but comfortable convos I hope to cultivate in my family

Female.

Yes
N/A (although if we are crashing at a friend's house we wear clothes because their golden retriever barges through the door in the AM)
Have been since I was in college. Comfort reasons
Dh sleeps naked too. Since he was a teenager.
DS is almost 4. Not worried about him seeing us naked at this point. We do keep a set of PJs in our nightstands just in case DS has a nightmare and wants to come sleep in bed with us.
