hello ladies:
i've been wearing foundation for years, but never primer. i see a lot of people talking about wearing primer under their foundation? does everybody do this? is it necessary? will it make the foundation last longer? tia! |

I think it depends on your foundation and your skin type: are you more oily or do you have (no offense meant) any wrinkles?
|
| sounds like another way for cosmetics companies to take our money, if you ask me. . . |
| All the hype about primers making your make-up stay on longer, etc. etc. I decided to give it a try. I tried like 4 different ones, and they were all a disaster. Did nothing but clog my pores and make me break out. A good transluscent powder on top of my foundation works much much better for me. I have oily skin. |
| I just started using smashbox photo finish primer (the oil free version) and I LOVE IT!! I have oily skin and normally by mid-morning my skin looks totally shiny, despite the fact that I use mineral make up that I thought was supposed to keep the shine down. Now that I'm using this primer, I have almost zero shine even by the end of the day. I use it instead of moisturizer now that it's summer. I really can't say enough about it. It did make me break out a bit when I first started using it, but that usually happens to me when I start using a new product. Now my skin has adjusted to it and I don't go out without putting it on. If you happen to wear mineral make up it makes it go on way smoother, too. |
| I use smashbox photo finish too and agree that it makes the foundation last longer. It also minimizes my pores a bit. But I'm lazy and it doesn't improve things enough for me to use it every day. Just occasionally and special occasions. |
