How long do you keep leftovers for meats like steak?

Anonymous
Went to a great steak place on Saturday, didn't finish my dinner, doggy bagged it and it's now Tuesday. Still good or throw out?

I would throw it out.

I'd eat it now. Not tomorrow.

heat it up well. It will cook more and be tougher but it's still protein and you won't die (probably)

I would eat it up to 5 days-ish

5-7 days and I have never been sick.

2 days for restaurant leftovers. 3 days for home leftovers.

Anything longer than 2 days and I toss it.

A week! But in my house it would never last that long.

Seriously. I'd probably throw out fish after 2 days but that's because it would taste nasty. For steak or anything else cooked, I'd eat it for 4 to 5 days after. My husband would eat it for a week. MIL would probably eat it months later but she is a little nutty that way ... before she comes over we clean out the fridge to make sure she doesn't accidentally poison herself. But none of us have ever been sick from food (knock on wood!).

3-4 days. Four is the max.

Up to 1 week as long as it's kept cold.
