Who is your stylist of you have really thick wavy hair? Haircut disaster, please help!

I have very very thick wavy hair. I've had hairstylists tell me it's the thickest they've seen (this is not a brag, I truly wish I had more normal hair). I got one disasterous haircut and another shortly thereafter to fix it, but alas it did not, so I'm stuck with this awful chin length situation with incredibly thick wavy hair and it just looks terrible. If you have similarly voluminous hair, who do you go to? I'm 30 and trying not to look matronly. I need someone who truly understands how to thin out/manage my unruly mop.

If you have thick wavy hair why on earth do you have it chin length??? That sounds horrible. I have a ton of hair and the only way to make it not look like a poodle is to grow it out. Isn't that common sense? Why do you have short hair?? This is on you.

Look for a salon who can do a Ouidad cut. Where are you located?

It is likely a bit of a schlep (Columbia MD) but the absolute best place I've found for curly hair is:

http://www.dianeforcurls.com/

Diane has very curly, very thick hair and really knows how to keep curly hair in great shape.

Again, I got a disasterous cut WAY shorter than I had intended or asked for. The second cut was to try to thin it out. Why do hairstylists not listen when you tell them not to go that short??

Anyone at Immortal Beloved will do a great job, but the higher-up stylists especially.

I have thick, wavy, short hair (rolling eyes at PP who thinks this can't look good), and I love Ruby at Frizzles in Old Town. She's amazing.

Did she used to be at Lorraine April!! I've been looking for her if so. She is fantastic and wonderful in every way. Convinced me to embrace my curls.
