Will I fit in main cabin seats

Anonymous
I'm 5'5 205lbs. With most of my weight in my upper body/stomach and chest. It's a domestic flight just a few hours and I meant to upgrade seats to first class but didn't get to it in time they are sold out now. I can upgrade to Delta plus but I don't think the seats are bigger....wwyd? Main cabin is full so I cant buy an extra seat or hope for an empty one. My current seat is towards the front of main cabin and an aisle seat.

That doesn't sound that big. What is your waist circumference when you sit down?

Have you not flown recently? We are around the same size and I fit fine.

I think you'll be okay for a short flight.

I"m 197 and fit just fine. You'll be fine.

^ If no parts of your body/stomach/chest stick out further than your knees when you sit down, then you should be fine. Otherwise, how would your knees fit?

I haven't flown I'm 6+ month's and out on weight since then. Not sure my waist circumference....in stretchy high waisted jeans I can fit into a 12/14 and in lower rise jeans a 16. My tops are xl/xxl however and I feel like my shoulders are pretty broad and my chest sticks out a lot. So I should be fine in my aisle seat? Is it Worth the upgrade to comfort plus?

I'm 5'7 and 235, just flew to Europe and Canada and was fine. What airline? Some have longer seat belts. Get an aisle.

You'll be fine. DH is about your size, actually a bit bigger, and he fits in standard plane sits without an issue.

I wear a size 16 and have taken coast to coast flights comfortably in a coach seat JUST FINE. What is in your head that you are some massive fat freakish human that cannot fit into a regular airline seat when you wear the AVERAGE clothing size of a US woman?

OP, if you couldn't fit in the seat, well, a hell of a lot of Americans wouldn't be fitting in the seat. You're fine.

You might just need to be aware of your middle seat neighbor and make sure you're not taking the arm rest the whole time to compensate for taking up a bit more of the seat.
