Where can I go Glamping near DC?

Glamping = Glamorous Camping

Looking for a luxurious cabin rental for 8-10 (or group of luxurious cabins) not too far from DC (Shenandoah or Deep Creek). Any suggestions or places where I can search for such a thing?

when did a (luxury) mountain lodge with a working HVAC system get included in "camping" ?

is this kind of like how all the ladies now "do half marathons" by walking 11 of those miles? i mean, yeah, you "did" it, you were physically there.

camping is camping. staying in a hotel with faux log walls and a fridge that plugs in isn't "camping."

Because not all of us want to sleep in a tent. I would sleep in a cabin, the more luxurious the better. My boys can sleep outside in a tent if they want, build a campfire, etc.

The term “glamping” is such a silly word. You either camp, or you don’t. A mountain cabin (especially a luxurious one) does not equate to any kind of camping.

PP here. Not the OP. I have absolutely zero desire to go camping! Oldest son is 7 and we have yet to go. Our compromise may be to do a cabin. Not everyone likes sleeping in the woods with bugs and no bathrooms.

OP, I posted a glamping thread a half year ago or so. Lots of good suggestions on there if I can find my old thread.

Even glamping involves a tent of some sort, or At the very least a rustic cabin (bunks in a shed, a door and window, no electricity). You're looking for a cabin retreat. That said, try Rocky Gap - it has a casino now.
