egg retrieval at Shady Grove

It seems like clinics like to do different procedures at specific times of day. Is there a particular window of time each day when Shady Grove performs their egg retrievals? How early before your time slot do they ask people to arrive?

They do egg retrievals in the morning; they make you come in 1.5 to 2 hours before the actual retrieval.

Mornings are at Towson- not sure about Rockville... Don't know when the latest retrieval is- your nurse would have all this info

Egg retrievals are done all day and go as late as needed based on number of woman ready. I have had a retrieval as late as 5pm. They are done in a specific order. Freeze all egg cycles first. Icsi cycles 2nd and natural fertilization last.

My ICSI with planned 5 day transfer cycle was done earlier in the morning than my freeze all cycle. But they were both in the morning.

I meant freezeing eggs without any fertilization which I don't think is that common.

Mornings. However, couples who have concurrent retrieval and andrology procedures (sperm retrieval) get priority for very early in the morning. My last egg retrieval was at 9 am. I was there 7:45 till 10:30. You will need to take approximately half a day off to be on the safe side.

My egg retrieval (no ICSI, no concurrent procedures for DH, freeze all cycle) was at 2:30PM. We were asked to arrive no later than 12:30PM. I was out of there by 3:45, and STARVING!!!!! This was at Rockvillle last year.

We were told it was based on when your trigger shot happened. We had an ER with ICSI and then freeze for PGS, and we were 2nd. I think it was like 7am or something like that.

That's backwards -- they tell you when to take the trigger based on when your procedure is going to be.

Thanks everyone from OP. Sounds like there is a wide range of possibilities and that there might be some leeway for requesting a trigger and ER that is not at the crack of dawn, based on a scheduling constraint I have.

Ahhh, this is a huge leap to conclusion. You will have no flexibility. They will push whatever time they want on you. OR schedulers are assholes. And your nurse cannot do anything other than suggest "do you want to go another day and trigger later"?

Ahhh, this is a huge leap to conclusion. You will have no flexibility. They will push whatever time they want on you. OR schedulers are assholes. And your nurse cannot do anything other than suggest "do you want to go another day and trigger later"?
