| Just switched jobs and thinking about rolling my 401(k) into an IRA account. Anyone have experience with USAA investment services? We do all of our banking/insurance with them, and I'd love to have everything in one place (but not at the risk of sacrificing quality). I currently have all of my investment accounts with Ameriprise. |
|
I had a managed account with them but then I looked at their fees and moved to vanguard. I do have a Roth ira and mutual fund through them but don't really keep track of them too closely. It's not my primary investment place.
I do have their cc, savings, and car/house insurance and really like them. |
| Vanguard or fidelity better choices |
| I briefly had an account at USAA (which I also use for everything) and was (belatedly) shocked by the fees. Moved to Vanguard. |

My father was a military officer, and so was I, and I've never had any insurer other than USAA.
But we've never used them for investments. When I briefly looked at their fees, they were insane compared to Vanguard. |
| Another person who uses USAA for everything except IRAs which are Vanguard. I called them to get advice on how to set up a SEP and they were worthless (when generally they are helpful) |

I have all our insurance with USAA. And a couple of bank accounts. They are idiots. Every dealing with them is so frustrating (except a small car accident but it was the other party fault). If it werent so much trouble to switch everything to another insurer I would.
Vanguard is a good suggestion. We have all our financial investments thru schwab and i like them. They offer some very good low fee funds. |
We use these two for investments/retirement. |
