I find it a complete joke that a state with less than 1% black population is priding itself in this type of empty posturing. I bet you if told the residents of VT that their state would have Mississippi's demographic mix tomorrow, they would wail in horror. |
|
What a brave action taken by the university! They knew that people like OP would see it as 'empty posturing' and would also take issue if it was flown at Ole Miss too.
|
No, if it was flown in ole miss it actually means something. |
It means something who(m)ever flies it. It meant something when whites marched with blacks in the 1960s for civil rights. Vermont could've played it safe and stayed out of the fray. It takes courage to take an unpopular stance. Of course, Ole Miss probably wouldn't fly that flag when with their history, they and Alabama should've been the first to display it. Not happening, today, tomorrow, forever. |
| It means Vermont is desperate to get on at least some map LOL Come on, people. Have you been? They have more cows than people. If you lived there, you'd want any attention too. |
Play on words to George Wallace's 1963 speech to desegregate schools..."segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever". Just a little history for those too young or if missed it in your history books. |
Brave? |
LOL! The cows are probably smarter than you!
|
??? I'm glad you're smarter than a cow, PP. |

vermont has less than 1% blacks but blacks make up 10% of their prison population.
yeah sure, flying a stupid flag makes you feel good though. |
