Hotel or Airbnb in Silicon Valley

My husband is going to the Silicon Valley area for work next month, and I'll be traveling with him with DS5 and DD2. Should we stay in a hotel or an Airbnb? We'll be there for a week.

I haven't had much experience with Airbnb, so I'm a little leery. I know the extra space of an apartment would be preferable over a hotel room, but it feels weird having to rely on a stranger to make sure that everything is the way it should be. With a hotel, we could just call the front desk if we needed something (in theory!)

Would appreciate any insights, or personal experiences with Airbnb v. hotel.

I'd just stay in a Residence Inn so you have some space and a kitchen, but that's just me.
