I think I am losing my mind. I got on a new birth control pill about a month ago and I swear to God it has made me into a different person. I am so miserable, crying all the time, suicidal thoughts, miserable in my relationship, I feel crazy. Can any doctors please tell me if this is normal? I really can't live like this |
Um of course it's not normal. Call your doctor and get off the pill. Jesus. |
Jeez, dude, go back to your old pill. |
Yep, I had this happen OP. I could not take any birth control pills. They all made me crazy. Call your doctor and go back on your old pill or see if there is another you can try. (I am not a doctor.) |
Call your doctor. Stop taking the pill. Call 911 if you feel suicidal. Please. |
Please stop taking the pill and go see a doctor. Take care, okay? |
It not "normal", but not necessarily uncommon. Oral contraceptives change your hormones, and can therefore certainly effect your mental health. Just like they can Be used to help regulate PMS Related mood disorders, they can also contribute to them in other women.
Talk to your doc. A different pill with a different estrogen level and/ progestin can make a world of difference. I took one pill years ago that turned me into a stark raving lunatic monthly. Had never had trouble on pills before that, and didn't after, despite changing brands many times over the years. It was awful, so I understand what you're going through. Just get off this pill - it doesn't mean it will happen with all pills, if you find that OCs are the best contraception for you. There are other options. |
You probably just need a different brand. Call your doc right away. Don't let them call you back. Demand some relief. And stop taking that pill. |
