Most MAGA won't believe what's happening until it harms them in a concrete way. For some, that's already happened and we've seen those particular folks raising hell at town halls, which Republicans promptly stopped hosting to stop that bleed. But for those who are in their own media bubbles and not actively being harmed, no they don't see any problem. They're sticking it to the libs.

All of the infighting about dems is helping no one. If you have concrete requests for your dem representatives, communicate those to their offices. I'd personally like to see all of them speaking up way the hell more loudly, and holding their own town halls like Bernie, AOC, Eliz Warren, and Walz are doing. And we're going to need to vote Schumer out. But let's get vocal with the actual reps' offices instead of arguing and whining on online forums - that accomplishes NOTHING. And we need to accomplish a LOT if this democracy is going to hold up to the massive fascist threats we are facing.

We had a Trump 1st term because of idiots voting for Trump. We had a Trump second term because of idiots voting for Trump and because idiots couldn't see the forest for the trees when electing an unlikable 77 year old jerk to a 1st term.

You may have been shocked to see Biden roll over like a dead dog in 2024 so that Trump would have an easy election victory; the rest of the world with at least half a brain were not shocked when seeing the obvious ramifications of electing a 77 year old to a 1st POTUS term play out. Biden wasn’t great and we never should have elected either of these crusty old guys to office.

However, Biden is an overcooked steak. Yeah it tastes like a boot and you’ve got plenty of complaints. But it’s edible enough while you wait for your next hopefully better meal.

Trump is a charred piece of turd being served by drugged up chef who is actively burning down the kitchen.

Like yes both are not great, but one is significantly worse than the other.

So whenever I hear people say they “had” to vote for Trump because of how bad Biden is, I think they’re even dumber than the people who legit think Trump is amazing.

To realize Trump is a turd and choose him because you didn’t like your burnt steak is asinine. In no ways will this administration’s harms make the country better in anyway.

The problem with settling for that overcooked steak who like anyone else with a pulse would have been viewed as the lesser of two evils against Trump in 2020 is that electing that overcooked steak as a first term POTUS in 2020 sets you up for guaranteed failure four years later when that overcooked is now a very unpopular and unfit incumbent. That dreadful scenario is how someone as weak and awful as Trump is elected to a second term.

We can't change our 2020 mistake now. All we can do is learn from it. When the mega donors push another Biden on the party in 2028, say hhhhheeeeeelllllll no!!!!!!

Yes, we're on the same side and I'm calling out the awfulness of Dem Party leadership or the lack thereof that has created a pathway for two Trump presidential terms to occur. Why? Because we can't control what the idiot MAGA people do during the Trump era but we should have some say in making sure the Dem party is functioning well enough to make sure awful and weak opponents can't win.

The GOP is in the process of handing us another easy victory in 2028 just as they did in 2020. If we take that victory with another lowly Joe Biden, we will just be setting ourselves up for failure in 2032. What we can control is making sure another Joe Biden isn't the 2028 Dem nominee.

Okay, I guess we’re not exactly on the same side. While Dems can surely evolve, Trump winning isn’t entirely the Dems’ fault. The GOP has a huge communications machine, bordering on propaganda, that the Dems don’t have. They had Elon’s insane wealth and blatantly lied about issues for political gain. Their messaging on fear is effective, and I think the Dems started off that way. But, then people didn’t like it that Harris laughed, that she could be joyful.

I also wouldn’t say the elections weren’t rigged. Too many anomalies. The GOP better play the long game. But, most of it serves their own interest. We won’t be able to get everyone on board, so I don’t think it’s worth trying. Every business has a target audience.

Of course Trump winning isn't entirely the Dem's fault but the Dems can only control their own backyard. Whining about Trump for 3 years and then accepting any Joe frickin Biden you are told to support will not end well. Been there done that.

Elizabeth Warren never had a chance of being taken seriously as a POTUS candidate. For far too long she has harped on political positions that are in conflict with the interests of the wealthy and powerful major political party donor class. No one that speaks out against mega donor interests is going to be a major party nominee anytime soon.

But as an example, in Montgomery county they allowed teachers to pick books with lgbtq themes to be taught to kids. For example, to be read aloud to the class at story time in kg or prek. The county previously allowed an opt out for parents to opt their child out. When they removed the opt out, parents protested and sued.

The protests were on Fox News every night. This case is going to the Supreme Court and you can bet it will be on every fox news show for days when it does.

This case was not about wanting rights for lgbtq rights because nobody was trying to get Moco to stop these lessons. The protests were about the removal of the opt out for parents who did not want their kids to be taught this and the lawsuit was brought about by parents of lower elementary students.

Fox News will frame it as look, when dems are in control they try to indoctrinate your 5 year in the public schools.

There was no trans push. The explosion in the number of trans kids is an unexplained mystery. My theory is that the trans kids were always there, and they were finally made to feel safe with those elementary school programs encouraging them. It wasn’t a push, it was a welcoming. It was a reduction in stigma and an increase in status.
