Has anyone been to a party at Great Play?

We are looking for a place to have a party for our 6 yo. She doesn't want a bouncy house or bowling. Has anyone been to Great Play in Fairfax? We are in the Tysons area and are open to other ideas.

We looked at it for my son's 8th birthday. Hard to find and seemed more geared towards younger kids.

We went to a party there. I agree for younger kids. There is no party room. The waiting area, in front of the party area is it! Barely any room to put food and cake out and have a place to sit.

This is OP, ok so then it won't work. Other ideas? I was looking at the options at Riverbend Park. We don't usually invite the entire class but it's so early in the kindergarten year and she's already saying she's friends with a couple girls and boys and doesn't want an only girl party.

I think a park is a great idea. You will need a rain plan, though. We have some friends who always do them in parks, and they are great parties. If it rains, you might have to suck it up and have everyone in your house. We do them in our home, and it's crowded as heck, but the kids love it anyway.

Other ideas are a skating rink or roller rink, laser tag, pottery painting.

We had my son's 6th birthday party at a Great Play when we lived in NY. I can't speak to the Fairfax location, but we loved Great Play in NY, and my son really enjoyed his birthday party.

There is an art studio in the Crystal City mall that does kids parties. I can't remember it's Art Jamz or Art Works, but the name and numbers of the stores are listed here: http://www.thecrystalcityshops.com/_files/docs/ccs_directory2016_final.pdf

Our-kids.com has activities/resources listed by type and you can refine your search by geographic region:
https://www.our-kids.com

So a nature center, working farm, or other art place might be fun for her.

We've had two parties at Great Play and it's a good choice, lots of fun for the kids and the staff there has always been very good. The waiting area is a little smaller than other players but that's because they have a larger play area. It's also pretty modern and clean and they have tons of different play structures and equipment.

How old were your kids when you had their parties there? Which of the party options did you choose?
