| Child is freshman. I noticed he will have different math teacher semester 2. How many math teachers do HS teachers have per year? |
| That's pretty normal. I attended Churchill years ago (2000 grad) and I rarely had the same teacher both semesters. Which was a good thing. As the school year is two semesters, in one school year, your student will either have 1 or 2 teachers. It's nothing to worry about or anything. |
| This seems to be typical. Classes are scheduled as semester credits without regard for teacher. DC had teacher changes even when the period didn't change and the first teacher was teaching second semester. Our HS appears have a couple section of Alg 1B offered first semester, so it really is all about the semester credit. |

Odd that Algebra 1B is offered the first semster at all..if it just kids that failed it the year before.
Anyways..it is a mixed bag. If you had a great teacher, it is too bad not to have the whole year with them. If you have a bad teacher, it is great to not be stuck. |
Some students take Algebra over the course of 2 years instead of 1. So, Algebra 1A is spread over one year, and Algebra 1B is spread out over the second year. Some students cannot do Algebra in one year. |
Yes, there's that to, but there are also some sections of regular Alg 1B offered first semester, some kids get off sequence, I'm sure there are other examples, too. |
