How to get back into the dating scene?

Anonymous
I'm 46, got divorced when I was 34. I'm a single mom and my only child just went to college a few weeks ago. I spent all these years getting her back and forth to her activities or attending school events so I didn't make time for dating. Now that she's gone all I do is go to work and come home. I want to try to get back to the dating scene, but I'm not sure where to start. Help!

Create an online dating profile and go from there.

Get it girl. You're 46 not 66! New haircut, new clothes. Dating sites. Have fun!

You can do it! Start with clothes and haircut that make you look and feel good! 46 is young! I guess the online dating thing is what people do now...Ask around to see which one seems to have the best prospects in your area / dating pool.

Are you in good shape? If not, lose weight and get fit.

What did middle-aged single women do to meet men before online dating existed??

They went grocery shopping at 5PM, went to singles events and were set up on blind dates.

Talk to friends and maybe get set up. Dont go on free dating web sites. Use one that you have to pay a fee for so maybe it would be a better screening process. Join an activity that may have men involved. Get a new haircut/color, and go to a department store and get some make up tips at one of the counters. You probably need some dating clothes too, sex it up a bit. All the best!
