| where can i take family - kids just want to fly - to cheapest nicest place closeby for weekend? thx |
| Fly into Toronto City airport via Porter Airlines. The airport is in the city center. We didn't rent a car -- we walked or used ubers there. On the Porter website, try the prices in USD vs Canadian. When I booked, the Canadian price was much less. They have frequent sales. |
| great tip, thanks! - OP. |

I'd just check hipmunk (or other travel site) for their last minute deals. If you don't have a specific destination in mind, you can just see what's on sale and sounds fun. Trying to find a specific location seems to always result in high fares (at least with my luck).
Flights to Chicago are often pretty cheap though, and there's a lot to do there for all ages. |

Try fly.com
Boston charleston orlando are frequently under 140 pp. |
| Yep was going to say Boston or Orlando. |
| Look at Kayak.com and try the Explore feature. It will show you all of the cheap flights available for the months or days you want to travel. I've used this feature a couple of times. We ended up going to New Orleans one time and Tampa (stayed in St Petersburg, FL) the second. Both inexpensive flights. |
| Spirit air has $39 flights to Miami (they do charge for luggage so pack light) |
Not OP but thanks for this. Never knew it existed and it's a cool feature. |

Adioso.com. Type in dates and anywhere (or specify US) and it will give you the cheapest flights.
Southwest is having a sale--Boston and providence are cheap |
It may be a cheap fare but I strongly disagree that Orlando is a nice destination. |
| google.com/flights also allows you to do a search from an airport for dates you want or no specific dates and displays a map to every airport in the world. |
| charleston |
| If you book in advance, Southwest does great rates all over the place, with no extra fees for things like checked baggage (and IME excellent customer service). I think you need to book on their website, and not through a kayak, Expedia type site. |
Great service, no bag fees, no change fees. But rarely "cheap". |
