Math sequence in MS

My DS goes to a Catholic school and just started pre-algebra. I'm curious what the math sequence is in MCPS? Is there an on grade level sequence and what is it? Above grade level?

Chart http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/curriculum/math/

Regular track
6th Math 6
7th IM (basically pre-algebra)
8th Algebra

Accelerated track
6th IM
7th Algebra
8th Geometry

There is also a track for those who need extra help and it invlves breaking up pre-algebra into two years -- Math 7 and 8.

Presumably she's trying to determine whether her child is on the right track vis a vis the child's abilities. Isn't that obvious?
