what is going on?

So got my IUD removed in preparation for TTC on 8/4. I’m not sure that I really ever got a period while I had the IUD vs intermittent spotting. Anyway at the appt my doc noted some scant blood (prior to the IUD removal) so perhaps my period was starting. Sure enough by the 6th , what appears to be a pretty normal period started, lasted several days. So I’m now a couple days past when my period was due, and no signs of it at all. I did take an EPT on 9/3, and it was negative. So I’m wondering if the several days of bleeding was just from the IUD removal and was not a period, and that is why the cycle doesn’t seem to currently be on track? But I had no pain with the removal and the bleeding didn’t start for two more days afterwards… Now I’m trying to decide whether or not to do another pregnancy test, but then again I already got a negative. Thoughts?

OP here, I should maybe add that pre-baby and IUD, my cycle was quite regular, if that matters.

Your body is probably just trying to find its normal again. If you need to test again to give yourself a sense of calm, by all means do it. But it could take a month (or more) to get back to your new normal.
