Restaurant rec near Gallery Place

Anonymous
We're meeting my brother in law for dinner somewhere near Gallery Place tomorrow night. I don't go out that much, will have a preschooler and a 7 year old. Any suggestions for a good place to eat? Ethnic is great, but must be kid friendly. Thanks.

There is a really good Thai place right near the metro - casual, great service, and great food (and very clean - I look for that sort of thing). A lot of my co-workers like it as well so it is not just me! I can't remember the name, but it's right by the movie theater. There is a sushi place right next door and a Haagan Daaz as well right there.

There are also tables outside the restaurant - so you are still inside the complex with the movie theater etc. but it gives you a little more space and might be good for kids.

Thai Chili. It's a nice restaurant, but I hardly ever see kids there. I would go to Clyde's.

I think the pp is talking about Thai Chili

I'd recommend La Tasca

Zaytinya is awesome. Personally, don't like La Tasca.

Thanks guys! I think Thai Chili fits the bill -- kids like THai and BIL is a semi-veggie so he'll find something good there.

I LOVE Zaytinas but I think it might be too much for the kiddos. They aren't that adventurous....

I don't like La Tasca either. Thai Chili is good. There's also Ella's Pizza on 9th, and Eat First and Full Kee are good Chinese places on H Street. Bar Louie is near Thai Chili and is good for kids.

We went to Thai Chili, it was perfect and delicious.

We almost took the red line in at about 5 PM, but I decided to drive instead. Glad I did. What a horrible crash.

Bumping this thread, because I'm looking for suggestions also. Meeting a friend, with my 3yo in tow.

Thai Chili sounds like a good option!

Thai Chili really has the worst Thai food around. Kanlaya or Royal Thai are much better. Full Kee has been recommended to me by a Chinese person but I haven't been there yet. We took our toddler to Ping Pong Dim Sum and he liked that.
