How many kids in DC's 3rd grade immersion class (FCPS)?

DC has 17 (down from 22 last year), which I think will be good. I failed to check the other 2 3rd grade immersion classes. Not sure it makes a difference if the immersion class is "gen ed immersion" versus "advanced math immersion" classrooms. Theoretically class size won't increase because new students aren't typically added.

Not a concern, more of a curious question: has any immersion program ever shrunk out of existance at a FCPS school?

The immersion classes are in the low 20s. The other classes are at 29 and 30.

OP again. Non immersion classes were smaller than immersion classes in lower grades. Immersion K had 24 kids; non immersion K had 15-17.

It seems like the classes are smaller initially, then eventually turn into one large class and then thin out again.

That doesn't seem right if the other classes are as small, they should only have two classes of 25-26 students.

I'll find out later about the other 2 immersion classes, but it may be smaller because DC's class is getting advanced math in the immersion language, and the others aren't. I'd never heard of an advanced math class just for immersion kids.

It is probably a way to try to keep the immersion student from fleeing to AAP in 3rd grade. We were not in immersion, but if advanced math had not been available to my DC's we would not have kept them at thier home school.

Looking for French and Spanish. My French immersion kid and my friends Spanish immersion kid will hopefully start 3rd grade in Fairfax county. We're both leaving immersions from another jurisdiction. The new website is a little difficult to navigate. Anyone know where to find the info.?

Our school has 3 1st grade classes of 18. Not sure why. It's title I though.
