No bucket swings around me, can I put my 19 mo on the big swings? He loves swings. |
1. You need to gauge your child's ability on the available swing.
2. Can he get on it? If not, maybe just put him on your lap to swing. Can you manage that safely? |
Most definitely cannot get on it. Lap doesn't work. Can't hold him and hold the swings at same time. |
My 2 year old hates the swing. I'm looking forward to when that changes. |
It was fine for my child at this age. Just push VERY gently!! |
Eh I can out my 2.5 yo on and she can kind of hold on so we go gently - she's also fallen off so I think the ground below matters - mulch or rubber would be ok
Otherwise more like 3.5 to actually use big swing correctly |
My almost 3 year old (who is probably the size of a 4 year old) still goes on his stomach. I wouldn't trust a 19 month old not to fall off. |
My almost 2 year old uses the real swing. I don't push her high. |
My 3.5 yo uses the big kid swings, probably started around 2-2.5(?), but she is small and can't yet pump her legs to make herself go. I can't wait for that day! |
Why? Who cares if they swing lol |
My son started getting on the big swing at around that age. They were low to the ground though so he could get himself situated, and he would walk backwards and get a little swing going. They were so low to the ground that I never worried about it. Now (at 22 months) if we go to a playground with higher swings, I'll put him in there and gently push but nothing too crazy. If he stops holding on with one hand, we get off right away. |
A 19 mo i"m not so sure about. I can't even convince my almost 4 YO he won't fall out of the big swing, SMH. |
My 3 year old still forgets to hold on tight... |
+1. My child loves the swings. I wish she didn't. I wish she'd run around the playground and wear herself out rather than just wearing out my arms pushing her! |
Ugh, yes, I hate the swing! |
