| DS is 5 and starts kindergarten tomorrow. He hasn't napped at preschool / daycare in awhile, but reliably sleeps 2 hours on weekend days (super athletic and intense kid). Obviously he can skip it if need be (went to Nata game yesterday and was no big deal) but he still loves sleep and goes to bed at 730-8 even with a nap. Anyone else in this boat? |
| No, not since age 3, but we still do a solitary rest time. |
|
I still like to nap on weekends, and I'm 37.
Just sayin'. |
| Well, the mom from the other thread with the 6 year old who sleeps 14 hours a day seems to be in your shoes. |
| My DS napped on weekends as a kindergartner. He's 11 now and starting middle school, and still naps some weekend afternoons and in the summer when he didn't have afternoon camps. He just loves his sleep! |
Yes, but I nap on weekends too and I'm 35. |
| A friend's second grader still naps on weekends at goes to bed at 7:30!!! I am a little jealous! My 2nd grader hasn't napped in 5 years and goes to bed at 9. |
| No |
| No, I wish but by 7pm, he pretty much asks to go to bed, which is nice. |
My 4.5 yr old (so pre-k) still naps on weekends and occasionally during the week, but can also skip it without problems. He is also super athletic and high energy and otherwise sleeps great, so I'm not worried if it continues. Plus it gives me a chance to nap too
|
| Yes. DS is starting first grade and still naps most Saturdays when there isn't another commitment. This summer wth camp he was even more tired. |
| If your child is tired and still going to bed at a decent time, let the kid nap. |
| I'm 34 and I nap 7 days a week, so it's more than alright for your kiddo! |
| Mine naps weekdays but not weekends |
| Teacher here, I think it's good he is napping if he needs the sleep. It isn't unusual for K's to fall asleep at school the first few weeks. Many fall asleep on the bus on the way home!!! |
