| Searching for inspiration for a trip around Christmas. Five adults (us parents, one set of grandparents and my sister) plus two girls, 8 and 10. Grandparents flying in from Europe, so that's a consideration. They are not very active, but like nice weather, eating out, etc. I just want something easy, not too expensive and I'm not in the kitchen all day. We can drive a bit and could be away as long as a week over Christmas. Help! |

Colonial Williamsburg is really pretty at Christmas time and pretty accessible for older, inactive types and interesting for kids.
Unless you're flying into a specific destination, you're not going to get warm weather within driving distance. |
| Thanks! We could fly or drive to Florida, but I can't identify anything there that really appeals. Anyone been to St. Augustine at Christmas? |
| Charleston is a really nice spot. Easy to fly to. Not expensive. Things to do for all your age groups. Great restaurants. |
