October mountain getaway -- recommendations?

I've searched the archives and found some good recommendations, but haven't found the right place with availability yet. DH and I are planning a 1-night getaway for our anniversary in October. We have done Sperryville/Skyland area and would go back, but would prefer somewhere new.

Do you have any recommendations for a mountain getaway within 2 hours of the DC area? I would like a place with views and a fireplace, but don't have many preferences beyond that. It can be rustic or modern. We are avid hikers but I'll be 32 weeks pregnant so nothing too strenuous/out there.

Recommendations for general ares or specific places to stay would be appreciated.
