Ever notice how no one ever complains about Gen X?

Anonymous
I just think it's interesting. Maybe our generation got used to being ignored .
Anonymous
Who do you think is doing the complaining about the other generations?
Anonymous
We just keep ours heads down and live our life.

I'm fine with that.

Yeah, I remember being a teen in the 90s and seeing a lot of media coverage of the "slacker generation" (Generation X). Now nobody says anything about Generation X: it is all about the Special Snowflake generation. What happened?

Latch key kids, we were responsible, still got spanked when I talked back, and wasn't treated as a "special snowflake" nor had helicopter parents. I think I turned out ok.

Everyone always complains about the young ones, they grow up to be responsible citizens. Lather, rinse, repeat.

We're just such a small generation, and we get ignored. Quite honestly, we're used to that and we kinda like it!

Most of those in the position to complain are GenXers .

They certainly won't complain about themselves, instead they complain about the other generations.

Similar to how the greatest generation and the boomers complained about them.

Give it about 10 to 15 years as there is a generational power shift again and you'll start to hear about your flaws.

Seems to be lots of complaints here about Boomers as well. Or maybe that's just one prolific poster.

Those that called you slackers were your parents and grandparents generation. They retired and you assumed the throne and the role of complaining about the spoiled younger generation and the selfish and clueless generation before you, ignoring your faults and focusing on the good aspects.

It's what everyone does. Well not everyone I think yours is the first generation to complain about not being noticed enough. The cycle will continue. You generation will be replaced the generation after you will complain about how selfish and clueless you were and the damage you caused the planet and economy and rant about how spoiled the generation after them is.

It's Xers in general who love to claim everyone else around them is spoiled but still want to demand things from their ageing parents and complain about entitled millenials. It's truly fascinating.

Because no one cares about you, Jan!

That's probably right. Not sure I'm Generation X, though: I was born in 1980.

This seems to just about nail it. We complain about how the Boomers, our parents, screwed us. And We complain about how the Millennials have it so much easier than we did because the Boomers screwed us. so yeah there's that
