DH and I don't get many opportunities to go out for a nice, romantic dinner - so I need DCUM help with suggestions.
It's our anniversary in a few weeks, and I want to make reservations at a hip, trendy, but also romantic restaurant. Preferably in and "lively" area DC. I searched Open Table and frankly there are just too many options to choose from. Price is not an issue since it is our anniversary. Open to different types of cuisine as well. Help! ![]() |
Komi fits your bill, mostly. It's in Dupont, which isn't all that cool anymore, but it's not Palisades, either. It's quiet and romantic, but not stuffy or pretentious. And the food is amazing. |
Thanks PP. I just googled it and it looks amazing! We used to live in Dupont when we were first married so this would bring back some really nice memories. Thank you ![]() |
Happy Anniversary, OP. |
I wouldn't call Komi hip and trendy though.
Tail up goat, Roses Luxury, RPM (if you can get past the Rancic thing), Hazel, Pineapples and Pearls, Bad Saint, Ripple |
How is Ripple hip? It's like 5 years old.
Unless OP wants to spend the majority of her date night waiting in line, I wouldn't bother with Bad Saint. |
Bad Saint is not the place for a relaxed romantic meal, especially with their recent Bon Appetit ranking. Rasika if you like Indian. |
Kinship/Meiter.
The Dabney. |
I think places without reservations like Red Hen or Roses Luxury are harder to be romantic.
Kinship? |
Iron Gate for the tasting menu. |
Thank you! ![]() 19 years....and they said it wouldn't last ![]() |
Ooooh!!! RPM - thank you for reminding met. I actually know Giuliana from back in the day, have always liked her so not going to discriminate. Have already been to Roses Luxury. Hazel and Ripple look very promising also. thanks again! |
Iron Gate for sure |
You can make reservations at Red Hen. |
