Our motel room has a fridge and freezer, microwave, stove and oven. No utensils or pots and pans. We aren't going to do a ton of cooking, but we won't eat every meal out, either. I anticipate have breakfast and lunch in our room most days, and a few dinners as well. (Tacos one night, and maybe spaghetti? Suggestions welcome.) What should I bring?
So far, I have... - knife and cutting board - veg peeler - paper and plastic tableware/utensils - can opener - corkscrew - trash bags, paper towels, misc plastic zipper bags What else? |

Non stick pan for eggs
One pot with lid big enough for pasta Tupperware to heat stuff up like tomato sauce etc Two large olastic or Pyrex bowls to serve pasta and salad in A couple real metal butter knives as those are easier than plastic and good for pbj and mustard for cold cut sandwiches etc. |
| sponges. I always bring my own sponges to vacation rental kitchens. I also have a little bottle of dish washing liquid for hand washing that I bring and a few pods for the dishwasher. Paper towel. |
| Any spices/condiments you won't want to buy a whole jar of while you're there. |

Yup - definitely 1 nonstick pan - for eggs, grilled cheese, etc, and one pot - will work for pasta, taco meat in a pinch (better than nonstick pan). Good knife and cutting board. I assume you are driving; if so consider small amounts of ingredients you might need (like one stick of butter, a little Tupperware of cooking oil or olive oil, salt and pepper, herbs/spices), etc. It gets expensive to buy all that stuff. Dishwasher liquid, dish towel.
We go to a beach condo every year and I plan for breakfast and lunch in, and maybe 1-2 dinners, and the rest out. In addition to what I mentioned above, I premeasure pancake mix (that frying pan will work); we have other grilled sandwiches like ham and cheese; Mac and cheese for the kids... Truly with what has been suggested you can do a lot. |
